What is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is a partnership between those who sell products and services and those who direct people to discover the products and services on offer. In my case, if I promote a product or services on my website by providing a link to the seller’s website, I am paid a small commission from the purchase you make.
How does Affiliate Marketing work?
If you use one of my links to purchase a product, I get a small commission from the sale. This is a private agreement between myself and the retailer that you have made the purchase with. There is NEVER any increase in cost to you. You will pay the same price regardless of whether you used my link to find the product, or if you’d discovered the product on your own.
I will NOT link to products that don’t have my full support unless I am reviewing the product, in which case all reviewed products, even products with unfavourable reviews, will be linked. For the most part, I will also only recommend a product or service that I HAVE TRIED MYSELF. If I do provide a link to a product or service I have not yet tried out, I will mention this, but you can be assured that I have researched the product extensively and I believe the product and the company selling the product are worthy of your interest. I will never knowingly recommend scams or products and services that I believe to be inferior.
Why do I use Affiliate Links?
It’s simple, I am running a business and I need to derive an income from that business. I have no regular income, and while affiliate links only make up a small portion of that income, it helps to keep this website running and it affords me the opportunity to continue my writing career.
