I often get asked what I’m currently working on, so here is a quick summary. Every month or so I’ll come back and give an update, so check back often.
This month I’ve finally bitten the bullet and re-launched my website. It’s been almost 3 years since my husband died, and I am now feeling more like myself and ready to return to writing romance.
Unfortunately, in the aftermath of his death, I stopped caring about a lot of things, which meant I neglected my website and my business and when I didn’t renew my website fees, I lost everything. Everything! All the data, files, posts. Gone. So I’ve had to start again. From scratch.
But in every cloud, there is a silver lining. By re-launching I’ve been able to reconsider the direction I want to take my writing and my website.
So, I’ve cleaned up the clutter and created specific goals that I want to achieve. Wish me luck!
As for the actual writing, well, a lot has happened on that front too. Three years ago I was working on my Stonebridge Series. At the time I’d just finished Cosmic Glitch and was halfway through Butterfly Kisses. Both manuscripts are still sitting on my computer, just waiting for me to finish them. They are on my list for later this year.
In the meantime, I’m working on Life After, a standalone novel about three widows who handle grief in very different ways. It’s about finding yourself, finding love and healing from grief. I am really excited about this novel because not only has it been a labour of love; it has also been a cathartic way for me to process my own emotions. My plan is to have the first draft complete by mid-year.
I’ve also been working on a memoir: War Widow: the Impact of Veteran Suicide, which tells the story of my husband’s passing, but also of how I’ve come through those grim days on the other side. This too has been a cathartic journey of emotion and healing allowing me to move forward with my life.
Well, that’s it for this month.
Enjoy the romance xx
Awesome! Can’t wait to read the new work! I’ve read the Peters Junction Series and really can not wait to read more!
